An apple a day

One day at lunch, I had cut up some apples for the kids.
Nikolai had chosen not to eat his.
So, I did the "mommy" philosophy thing and told him that eating apples makes you grow tall.

I pointed to Larry and said" see Daddy is tall because he ate his apples." Turning to Vitaly and Oksana I mentioned that "they were growing too because they just finished theirs!"

Then I looked at myself and said, "see I didn't eat my apples enough!"
---------------------------
A few days later Oksana and I were walking together. She turned to me and smiled and said mom I am growing very tall and will be as tall as you soon! I said, that is probably very true.

She looked at me and said, "mom you need to eat more apples!"

Smart little girl.

Search and Find

Can you find the sleeping child...

Hidden amonst the sheets and pillows he lay...

Where he had climbed into his parents' bed to play...

But learned a valuable lesson instead...

Warm comfortable pillows, in a big soft bed, on a cold winter's night...

Can never beat the sandman to bed!

It's a...BOY!

Introducing the newest member to our family....

SPIKE!

Nikolai had done a big goldfish project and we decided it was time for him
to have a pet of his own. He proudly took his Walmart gift card and proceeded to purchase the bowl and food. We then headed to the pet store, where he became the proud owner of his first fish a crown betta.

At least, he did not want a big hairy tarantula!

Eyeliner

Okay, I just thought this was one of those "is this really happening" moments.

My eyeliner pencil broke and I needed one before work. So, I asked Oksana if mommy could “borrow” hers, from her huge Christmas stash.

She said, “Sure mommy, do you need me to help you?”

Now, I am just wondering…is it wrong for a mother to be borrowing eyeliner, from a four year old?

Groundhog Day

As we were heading to the sitter's I was explaining Groundhog Day to the kids. I told them that the groundhog that was hibernating would come out of his home and check the weather....

Oksana thought about it for a minute then said, " Mom, groundhog's don't have TV's!"

creative abilities

Oksana was so excited to get a BIG assortment of her own make-up at Christmas, thanks to our dear friends Mark and Rae Lynn.
Here is she demonstrates her creative ability with her goods...

She was so proud of herself!
