Chocoholic

On Saturday, Oksana and I went to a charity event for Breast Cancer.
The event was a quarter auction for donated items ranging from T-shirts to gift certificates and boxes of chocolate.

Oksana picked her paddle and chose number four (since she is four of course). Then the bidding began. The concept is you put a quarter in for each item you want to bid on and if your paddle number is called you win!

Oksana’s number was called early and she proudly won gift certificates to local restaurants for free food and sandwiches….

But, that is not what she really wanted. She didn’t even care about the Build-A- Bear or other little girl goodies. No, all she wanted was one of the five boxes of Ester Price chocolates.

Every time the chocolate came up for bidding, Oksana would stand up and hold her paddle as high as it would go, just hoping that by raising it the highest somehow she would win. When the auction ended, she did not win the chocolates. But, mom has learned an important fact. My daughter is a confirmed chocoholic! She once even told me she “needed” some chocolate. I had thought in the back of my mind she might be a chocolate craver. Like her sister-in-laws, aunts, and other women before her she needs her chocolate!

Way to go Oksana....Chocolate is good for the soul and I am one that NEEDS it too. Sammy loves it just as much as mommy too. In the orphanage they told me she was allergid to it - I knew that God would not give me a daughter with a chocolate allergy?! :)
